Contemporary Sculpture Studio: The sculpture studio located on the 1st floor of the Fred Jones Art Center is equipped for a variety of construction needs. It includes 2 main indoor workspaces and an outdoor covered workspace with a foundry, loading access & 1 ton rolling gantry crane. The studio also houses a 4860 Shopsabre CNC router table and a Shopsabre CNC plasma cutting table. The sculpture tool room is equipped with a variety of essential hand & power tools including various pneumatic tools. The studio also provides numerous safety items including eye protection, gloves, hearing protection and specific protective clothing. A limited number for undergraduate studio spaces are available for exceptional majors. The studio is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for enrolled students. Every student enrolled in a sculpture course is required to download and review the Equipment & Safety Manual as part of their safety orientation used during in-class demonstrations. Students also utilize the SoVA Digital Fab Lab on the fourth floor for courses and projects. The lab is dedicated to digital fabrication and scanning technologies. The lab is well equipped for all means of digital fabrication including 3d printing in ceramic.
